  • When the band plays abroad, part of the deal is that the hosts find accommodation.  In Barcelona, they found themselves staying in a brothel.

  • One of the founding members, now a granny, has been arrested (more than once) for anti-nuclear protests.

  • One woman's interest in Latin American rythmns developed when she was carrying out rain forest research in Costa Rica.

  • One of the women in the band has 4 children.  Her only girl was delivered in the car on the way to hospital.  She called her Erin, after the band’s musical director.

 
  • Several women work in the caring professions with children, young people and other vulnerable folk.

  •  Others include a scuba-diving accountant, a web designer, a taxi company owner, a rugby crazy social worker, single parents, mothers and grandmothers.
