The band is led by Erin Scrutton who started the women’s samba movement in Scotland when she was invited to bring together 100 women to drum in the early 90s as part of a performance art event.  She has since taught and written music for Glasgow’s SheBoom, Edinburgh’s Commotion, and women’s bands in Irvine, Dumfries, Aberdeen and Fife.  She wrote and led playing on the Pet Shop Boys’ Se A Vida E and Single Bilingual. She also delivers samba workshops in a corporate setting.
